Wildparkstadion

On June 15th, 2022, the absolute major project in Karlsruhe, the new construction of the Wildparkstadion of KSC, began. Construction of the new soccer stadium has been underway since 2019. A modern and sustainable venue for more than 30,000 spectators is to be built on behalf of the city of Karlsruhe. The particular challenge is to complete the project while matches are still being played, which poses additional challenges for the construction site, such as safety measures on match days. The project requires a high degree of coordination in order to be able to combine the organizational handling and staging of matches with the renovation and new construction.

The mixture of a presentation, which gave us an overview of the architectural and constructional background and challenges of the major project, and a tour of the completed and currently under construction sections, gave us a deep insight into the complex work of the specialists involved in the construction of the new stadium.
