Salerno & Lecce
In keeping with the motto "Connecting the South", this year's exchange in Italy took place in Salerno and Lecce. For us participants from Karlsruhe, this was our first exchange and we were really looking forward to the week. The event began in Salerno with a tour of the campus and the international evening. There, each participating nation presented their country with a typical song and food. Furthermore, we, a group of almost 20 students and alumni, were given a guided tour of Salerno by the local students and we took part in a workshop in which we built various arches out of bricks. After two eventful and enjoyable days, we took the bus to Lecce. On the way, we stopped in the very interesting town of Matera, where we ate a typical Italian meal and visited the town. In Lecche, we built two different types of bridges out of wooden skewers as a competition. We also spent an afternoon relaxing by the sea. After a great week with lots of impressions, new friendships and lots of fun, we took the night bus back to Naples, where the participants went their separate ways.
We would like to thank LC Salerno and LC Lecce for this great time! We are looking forward to the next event in Italy.
