MTM Budapest

The 2022 IACES Midterm Meeting took place in Budapest. A total of 60 civil engineering students were able to take part in this event. Some of them traveled a long way from the Dominican Republic, Ethiopia and Egypt. Many European countries such as France, Portugal, Turkey and Serbia were also represented. Four students from Karlsruhe took part.
The core of the week-long program was the two-day assembly. During this, we held elections, welcomed new local groups and discussed the various local structures in workshops. We were also able to visit building sites and get to know Hungarian culture during the week. I will particularly remember the visit to the Chain Bridge during its restoration and the folklore evening.
All in all, it was an impressive week in which we were able to make new international friends, learn a lot about cultural differences and feel the spirit of IACES.
